Bring Holiday Cheer to Foster Children with The Savoy 🎄-image

The holiday season is a time for giving, and here at The Savoy, we’re excited to join Morguard’s North Pole Express, a heartfelt initiative to support children in foster care. Over the next four weeks, we’re inviting our community to come together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children by donating items that bring comfort, joy, and dignity. What Is the North Pole Express? 🎁 The North Pole Express is a nationwide effort led by Morguard communities, including The Savoy, to collect essential and comforting items for foster children. Our lobby will serve as a festive collection spot, where residents can drop off donations to fill “comfort cases”—backpacks filled with necessities and thoughtful items designed to brighten the lives of foster kids during the holiday season. Who Will Your Donations Help? 💙 We’re partnering with Comfort Cases , a nonprofit that provides foster children with backpacks filled with essentials like pajamas, books, hygiene items, and more. Many foster children move from home to home with their belongings in trash bags, but these comfort cases give them something more meaningful: a sense of dignity, love, and hope. How Can You Get Involved? 🌟 From now through December 13th , we’re accepting donations in the lobby collection box. Here’s how you can help: New pajamas (for children of all sizes) Diaper wipes (packs of 10–48) Children’s board books (to inspire young minds) Small blankets and stuffed animals (for comfort and warmth) Baby washcloths (to help with everyday care) Each item donated brings us one step closer to brightening a child’s day. Please remember that all donations must be new and unused , and we kindly request that no religious or holiday-themed items be included to ensure the backpacks meet every child’s needs. Questions? We’re Here to Help! If you have any questions about donations or how you can get involved, don’t hesitate to contact the leasing office. Our team is happy to guide you through the process and ensure your contribution makes the biggest impact. Why Participate? The holidays are about more than decorations and gifts—they’re about connection and generosity. By participating in the North Pole Express, you’re not just giving items; you’re giving hope, kindness, and a little holiday magic to children who need it most. Join us in making this season one to remember. Together, we can make a real difference and create a brighter holiday for children in foster care. Thank you, Savoy residents, for being part of something so special. Let’s spread some holiday cheer! 🎄

The Savoy Apartments: Light the Night 2024 in Atlanta!-image

At The Savoy, we believe in creating more than just a place to live—we’re committed to fostering a sense of belonging and purpose within our community. That’s why we’re proud to join forces with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) once again for their annual Light the Night Walk. This remarkable event brings together people from all walks of life, united by the common goal of supporting those affected by blood cancers. In 2024, we’re inviting all our Savoy residents, friends, and family to walk alongside us in the Atlanta Light the Night event. Together, we’ll join together to show our support for this life-changing cause. What is Light the Night? Light the Night is a nationwide event that brings together communities to celebrate survivors and honor those who have lost their battle with blood cancers.  This night also raises awareness about the importance of continued research and support. During this powerful event, participants carry illuminated lanterns that represent different aspects of the journey: White Lanterns : For those who have survived or are currently battling blood cancer. Red Lanterns : Carried by supporters and allies who stand with their loved ones in the fight. Gold Lanterns : Held in memory of those we have lost. This incredible display of unity is both emotional and uplifting. It’s a time to come together, reflect, and remind one another that no one fights alone. Light the Night is a symbol of hope, perseverance, and the strength we find in community. Why Light the Night Matters Blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, affect millions of people around the world. Every day, individuals and families receive life-changing diagnoses, and the impact of these diseases can be devastating. But there is hope, and that hope is strengthened by events like Light the Night. Funds raised through Light the Night directly support LLS’s mission to fund cutting-edge research, provide patient support services, and advocate for policies that make treatments more accessible. The impact of LLS’s work reaches far beyond the blood cancer community, as many of the treatments they help develop have become breakthroughs for other types of cancer as well. By participating in Light the Night, The Savoy is taking an active role in helping LLS advance the fight against blood cancers. It’s our way of showing that we care, and we’re committed to making a difference. Walk With Us at Atlanta’s Light the Night The 2024 Atlanta Light the Night Walk will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024 , at the beautiful Piedmont Park . As night falls, the park will be illuminated by thousands of glowing lanterns carried by survivors, supporters, and those honoring the memory of loved ones. It’s an evening filled with solidarity, emotion, and hope—a true testament to the strength of community. The Savoy will be there, walking side by side with our residents and team members, proudly carrying our lanterns to show that we’re all in this together. How You Can Get Involved We’re inviting every resident of The Savoy to be a part of this incredible event, and there are several ways you can participate: 1. Every donation, no matter how small, helps LLS continue their life-saving work. Fundraising can be as simple as sharing your page with friends, family, and coworkers—every dollar raised brings us closer to a cure. 3. Spread the Word One of the easiest ways to help is by raising awareness about the event. Share your involvement on social media, talk to your neighbors about Light the Night, and encourage others to participate. The more people who know about the walk, the greater impact we can have as a community, and your voice can inspire others to take action.
